Agartala : Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday said that the present government will not tolerate and never compromise on any kind of corruption.
Dr. Saha said this while addressing the 26th state-level conference of Tripura Nyajya Mullyer Dokan Parichalak Samity at PRTI, Arundhutinagar, Agartala.
“Our government is very sensitive. This government is working in a transparent way. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi always says he is a chowkidar, and we are also chowkidar of Tripura. There is no place for corruption. We will not allow any corruption in Tripura. Whoever the person might be, our government will deal with corruption firmly. The government is working to gain the trust of the people by providing assistance to those in need,” said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha mentioned that because of the trust and support of the people, PM Modi became the Prime Minister and for this he will be re-elected as PM of India again.
“This time also, the NDA-led BJP will win in more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Without PM Modi, development is not possible. The condition before 2014 was pathetic. There was a time when elections in our state marred with violence. Now everything has changed. The state now conducts peaceful elections. Our government doesn’t want any kind of violence as we believe in democracy. Where CPIM ruled, they have created disturbance. But we believe in peace. If you see the last elections, all were held peacefully, and no violence had taken place. Because of the trust of the people, we have won both seats in the by-election,” said Dr. Saha.
He emphasized that after the BJP government was formed, stress was laid on strengthening the PDS system.
“From 2018 till now, we have procured 1.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers. We are also providing rations to Bru displaced people. Tripura Nyajya Mullyer Dokan Parichalak Samity is a part and parcel of this government because if the Public Distribution System (PDS) functions effectively, it will help the government gain the support of the people,” he added.
During the program, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya were present.
