Agartala : Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Friday said that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is committed to encouraging students in science, technology, and innovation and emphasized the importance of science exhibitions in developing the innovative abilities of students.
Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating the 51st State-Level ‘Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani’ organized by the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) at MTB Girls’ H.S. School ground.
“The role of science exhibitions is crucial in developing the innovative power of students. One of the steps for the development and progress of a country or state is the practice of science and its proper use. Using science and technology is very important in today’s times,” said Dr. Saha.
A total of 40 science models, 5 from each district of the state, have been presented in this exhibition.
“There is no dearth of talent among the students of our state. Students should be taught to be rich in human values in educational institutions. The idea of patriotism should be awakened in them. Students should be encouraged more and more to do innovative work that benefits the people. In this regard, the role of teachers is very important. The teaching of the teachers and their motivational speeches create a deep imprint in the minds of the students, paving the way for them to move forward in the future,” added Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha highlighted the changing methods and subjects of education with time. Therefore, he stressed the need to give importance to subjects related to modern education in school teaching over the traditional teaching of teachers.
“The new National Education Policy has already been implemented in the educational institutions of the state, and it will have a far-reaching impact on the education system in the future,” he said.
He also mentioned the significance of digitization in the country and the state, citing the introduction of the e-cabinet system and the launch of e-office in every government office for transparent administration.
SCERT director NC Sharma, Director of Elementary Education Subhashis Bandyopadhyay, and others were present at the event.
