Govt to fill up vacant posts based on importance: CM

Agartala : Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today informed that the state government is working to fill vacant posts gradually, prioritizing based on importance.

He emphasized that government officials serve as the bridge between the public and the government.

Dr. Saha said this while addressing an event for the distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited TCS and TPS Gr-II officers at Muktdhara Auditorium, Agartala.

“Our government is transparent. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is running the government with transparency. There was a time when rallies were frequent in the state, and there was a mindset that without political connections, securing a government job would be impossible. The Prime Minister always emphasizes that interviews should be eliminated and recruitment should be based solely on written exams. This decision was made to ensure transparency,” said Dr. Saha.

He mentioned that many individuals are awaiting promotions because of pending court cases. To address this, the government has decided to offer a one-time promotion.

“The primary aim of this government is to respect people and talent. By 2022, the recruitment process under TPSC was cleared, which is an achievement for us. Previously, people had to approach officials for transfers due to communication issues, but now the communication system has significantly improved. We are also working to fill up vacant posts step by step based on priority,” he added.

Dr. Saha also highlighted the importance of training and experience, noting that the state government sends officials to places like Mysore for training.

“Training is crucial. Officials are the bridge between the public and the government. There are numerous schemes from the Government of India and the Government of Tripura. It is important to have detailed knowledge of these schemes and to coordinate with other departments,” he said.

Dr Saha informed that so far through TPSC 1742 persons were recruited while steps were taken to fulfill 745 vaccant posts.

“The government has also taken steps to fill up 916 vaccant posts of Constable under Tripura Police (Home Department). Under ARDD department 67 veterinary officer (Group-B) and 439 ARD Asstt. (Goup-C) recruitment process on”, he added.

Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Secretary Apurva Roy, and Additional Secretary Samit Roy Chowdhury were also present at the event.
